ChallengeWorks' mission is to provide quality action-based experiences through which individuals and groups can make personal discoveries and acquire skills for increased interpersonal effectiveness.

All ChallengeWorks programs use the framework of the experiential learning process:

Within this framework our programs can vary considerably to meet the specific training needs of your organization. We work hard to understand your needs and goals in order to lead the activities and discussions that will best meet the unique needs of your organization.

Each ChallengeWorks program features the following elements:

• Action-based learning
• Dynamic interactions
• Group specific and appropriate activity sequences
• An atmosphere of mutual respect and freedom of individual choice
• Facilitated periods of shared reflections and insights (debriefings)
• Fun and novelty

ChallengeWorks facilitators will encourage participants to:

• Examine the interpersonal dynamics of the group
• Explore their own individual reactions and behaviors
• Identify productive and unproductive responses
• Discuss connections to participants' "real world" experiences
• Implement new responses to improve personal and group effectiveness
• Set personal and group goals for future performance

EXAMPLE PROGRAM STRUCTURES:

Team Awareness Day: As a half or full-day option, this program provides a sequence of games and low and high challenges designed to plant seeds of awareness about team effectiveness. The emphasis is on fun, renewal, and awareness. (High events are not used in half-day programs.)
Multi-Day Teamwork Academies: It takes a lot of time and effort to create and sustain a great team. In a Teamwork Academy, your group will spend two to six days to discover new levels of effectiveness. The multi-day format allows time for groups to develop the bonds and practice the behaviors that inspire creative, sustained teamwork. We work closely with you to custom design experiences for maximum long-term impact. These can include a variety of outdoor activities to include: The challenge course Canoeing Rock climbing Orienteering Mountain biking Archery
Theme Focused Programs: Use our curriculum to reach specific training objectives for your organization. Theme programs are single-day sequences that can be used individually, in a series over time, or inserted into your own developmental programs. Examples of themes are listed below:

A ChallengeWorks program can be facilitated in a variety of locations depending upon your interests and goals. We can come to your site or you can come to ours. Our facilities include an outdoor challenge course that is one of the best in the nation, and we have multiple indoor options as well.
